June 17-23, 2018 - Banff National Park with Larry Winslett

2018 06 Banff NP web trip headerGet ready for a fantastic week (7 days, 6 nights) of photography with professional photographer, teacher and friend of GNPA, Larry Winslett, in one of the most desirable photo locations in the world!!!

Experienced Nature photographer and workshop leader Larry Winslett is the trip organizer, teacher and guide for this fantastic trip sponsored by the Georgia Nature Photographer’s Association.

We will be visiting many of those iconic mountain landscape scenes, such as Lake Moraine, Bow Lake, Lake Louise, and Peyto Lake, just to name a few. We will also see some hidden gems, along with the potential for some exciting wildlife. Along the Bow Valley Parkway it's common to see Black bear, Grizzly bear, Elk and Moose. The Canadian Rockies are truly a spectacular place to expand and practice your photographic skills.

Established in 1885, Banff is Canada’s oldest National Park.  The park boasts some of the world's finest unspoiled ecosystems and is one of the world’s premiere nature destinations, spanning a region of unparalleled majestic mountain scenery. Banff is part of UNESCO’s Canadian Rocky Mountain World Heritage site.

Located in the heart of the Canadian Rockies, the scenery in Banff is enough to take your breath away. With its towering snowy peaks, sapphire waters, and lush meadows abundant with wildlife, Banff is filled with picture perfect image possibilities. The Canadian Rockies in the park emerge sharply up through the landscape, and tower as high as 11,850 feet. The mountain range has numerous glaciers, and gorgeous lakes and streams are found around every corner.

The park encompasses Banff, the highest town in Canada at an elevation of 4,540 feet; the hamlet of Lake Louise, 5,052 feet, the highest permanent settlement in Canada; several national historic sites; and Castleguard Caves, the largest cave system in Canada; and more than a thousand glaciers.
