West GA Nature Photographers In-Person Meeting

Popular nature spokesman Norman Winter, The Garden Guy, will
conduct a photo presentation on butterflies, “The Canary in the Coal Mine” at the first live monthly meeting since 2019 of the Hamilton chapter of the Georgia Nature Photographers Association.
The meeting will be held at the Harris County Community Center at 7509
Highway 116 in Hamilton from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15th. GNPA members and non-members should contact email@example.com to get on a limited reservation list. Masks and social distancing are required.
Norman Winter’s award-winning Southern Gardening television segment has attracted a weekly viewing audience estimated at 465,000 viewers on various stations, and he is currently a weekly columnist with McClatchey Tribune News Service, read nationwide from coast to coast, including in the Columbus Ledger-Enquirer. He also has written four gardening books, “Mississippi Gardeners Guide”; “Growing Tropicals in Your Own Back Yard”, “Tough-As-Nails Flowers” and “Captivating Combinations of Color and Style”.
Norman recently retired as Director of the University of Georgia’s Coastal
Georgia Botanical Gardens at the Historic Bamboo farm in Savannah. During his 38-year career he also managed several other horticultural organizations, including the Columbus Botanical Garden, the National Butterfly Center, the American Rose Society and the Texas Pecan Growers Association.
The Georgia Nature Photographers Association (gnpa.org) is a statewide organization dedicated to educating members in the art of wildlife and natural landscape photography, and also focuses on ecological education and preservation of the natural environment. One of eight chapters, the Hamilton club serves members in the Georgia area reaching from LaGrange to Columbus; Auburn and surrounding areas.
