Annual Expo

Our Premier Event of the Year — The GNPA Annual Expo

Each spring, GNPA hosts its Annual Expo — a multi-day photography experience set in some of the most visually stunning locations across the region, handpicked for their exceptional photographic potential and comfortable facilities.

This is your chance to sharpen your skills in the field with hands-on workshops led by professional photographers and seasoned GNPA members who generously share their expertise. You’ll also enjoy inspiring presentations from some of the nation’s most celebrated nature photography experts, offering insider tips, creative techniques, and new ways to elevate your craft.

Our Expo typically features top photography vendors showcasing the latest cameras, lenses, and accessories, giving you a front-row seat to what’s new — and the opportunity to upgrade your kit on the spot.

Past Expos have brought hundreds of passionate photographers together in locations like Jekyll Island, Columbus, Hardeeville, SC near Savannah, Callaway Gardens, and Brasstown Bald — each event a unique blend of learning, networking, and capturing breathtaking images.

Whether you’re a beginner or seasoned shooter, the GNPA Expo is where your passion meets opportunity.

Smokies Fall Trip

GNPA Smokies Weekend

Join GNPA for one of our most anticipated events of the year—Smokies Weekend—set during the peak of lower elevation fall color in the Great Smoky Mountains near Townsend, TN.

Choose from 10 or more expert-led field trips covering iconic locations like Clingmans Dome, Cades Cove, Elkmont, and Tremont. Wildlife is highly active—bears, deer, and elk. Animals are in hyperphagia, making this the perfect time to photograph them.

Weekend Highlights Usually Include:

  • Four guided field trips
  • Thursday night welcome with pizza and other activities
  • Sunday morning continental breakfast
  • Image critique session with top GNPA judges
  • Smokies Print Competition

Whether you’re looking to build your portfolio, refine your skills, or simply enjoy the fall magic with fellow photographers, this weekend delivers unforgettable memories, new friends, and more great locations to return to in the future.
