Joint GNPA, CNC, and RFAA Contest/Exhibit at
Chattahoochee Nature Center
2025 Double Vision

“Birds”
__________________________________________________________________

 Overview:
Georgia Nature Photographers Association (GNPA) will partner with the Chattahoochee Nature Center (CNC) and the Roswell Fine Arts Alliance (RFAA) for our annual Double Vision exhibit. The theme this year is “Birds”. Twenty-four (24) images will be selected in the photography contest to be exhibited in the CNC River Resource Gallery in Roswell, Georgia. These same images will be interpreted by artists from the RFAA. When brought to the CNC for hanging, the photographic image and the artist’s interpretation will be hung side-by-side…thus the theme name Double Vision.

To get a good selection of photos in the gallery, there will be 3 entry categories for the purpose of photo selection:  1) birds in flight, 2) bird portraits, and 3) bird behavior.

The exhibit will be on display from September 3 to December 3, 2025. In previous years, this exhibit has been very well received.  From the opening reception for the artists, to the walk-through traffic at the CNC, visitors have been very enthusiastic of the concept.

This Contest/Exhibit is open to all members of GNPA. If you are not a GNPA member, join today. The entry fee for this Contest/Exhibit is $5/image.  The number of entries is unlimited but a maximum of 2 photos will be selected per photographer.

This Contest/Exhibit is open only to nature photography images. There should be no, or very minimal, “hand of man” in the photo. The bird must be a Georgia native species but could be taken outside Georgia. Normal post processing plus minor edits or corrections (like taking out a power pole) are allowed. Images should represent what was actually seen in the field.

Ribbons as well as prize money will be awarded as follows:  Best in Show = $125, First = $100, Second = $80, Third = $60, HM = $25 (2 of these), People’s Choice = $25. (These are not awarded by entry categories.)

NOTE:  “By submitting your photograph you hereby grant the designated RFAA artist the right to produce a painting, drawing, or other artwork from the photograph. Furthermore, you understand that there is no obligation or expectation of any payment of any type for the right to produce artwork based on your photo or the possible sale of such artwork by the artist. In addition, the photographer grants to GNPA the right to use the photo for promotional purposes in conjunction with this exhibit or other GNPA contests now or in the future.”
